With summer right around the corner, we know routines will change and life will look a little different, but the summer months are a great time to jump in head first to a new or more exciting routine such as helping kids learn important life skills! For example, involve the kids in grocery shopping or allow them to help cook one night a week. You could even get them to help calculate the cost of purchasing the items for the meal to help learn more about budgeting. Establish summer chores (if different from normal chores) or implement an allowance for certain chores. There are many different opportunities to hone in on those life skills during the summer months so take advantage of the different pace of life. School may be out, but learning never stops!
